Fallen Angel
by Brian C. Sanchez 2001
December morning, feeling blue
The skies are falling without you
Bear witness expectation
Wondrous revelation
But does it matter if you're not around?
I feel the ground shake under my feet
Gravity releasing me
Onward to new sensation
Glorious transformation
Arms stretched to hold but you're nowhere to be found
Then I see you waving
Listen to me
I don't ever wanna leave you alone
Like a fallen angel falling back to your heart
Heaven knows I would rather be in hell with you than see us apart
Father forgive me but I know that you would understand
That I can't be in your right hand without her holding my hand
I hope you understand
I see your eyes stargazin' at me
Wishin' that you could see what I see
The future and all history
No longer a mystery
Eternal life as I start to ascend
Eyes closed but all I see is you
Imagining life and not being with you
My God, why do this to me?
Pullin' my heart straight through me
But I just can't fail her again
And I see you waving
Listen to me
I don't ever wanna leave you alone
Like a fallen angel falling back to your heart
Heaven knows I would rather be in hell with you than see us apart
Father forgive me but I know that you would understand
That I can't be in your right hand without her holding my hand
I hope you understand |
